Why Should You Go to Massanutten?
Our mission is to prepare cadets for their success by delivering a structured and superior educational experience. Our unique approach involves an environment built on collaboration, critical thinking, and innovation.
Here you will thrive in an environment of exploration and opportunity as you prepare for the challenges ahead. As an example, rather than denying the use of cell phones or Internet access, cadets are taught to use these important tools responsibly. Cadets will be guided and mentored to make wise decisions and good choices. When you graduate and reflect back on your time at Massanutten, your experiences here will help you to make better choices and to achieve greater success.
Every adult at MMA is a “teacher,” and every moment is a “teaching” opportunity. You will be challenged and inspired to become a self-directed learner, excited and curious about the world we live in and all its possibilities. This culture permeates the campus and is foremost in our thoughts and actions.
Everything we do is aligned with our mission of producing confident, capable, and productive citizens. Visit our website to schedule a tour or request more information.
What are the Programs Offered?
While we offer a military structure, our main focus is academic. As a cadet, you will be given individual attention from faculty and staff. Through various academic and mentoring programs, our students learn to focus and work independently. We also offer dual enrollment and AP courses.
As a college preparatory school, we are committed to offering expert guidance as you make your college selections, schedule testing, complete applications, and sort through acceptance letters. Even though we are a boarding school, parents are encouraged to become involved with this all-important process. It is an exciting time and we are here to help!
Be a Leader
Our programs are designed to foster respect between the cadets, faculty, and staff and to nurture the potential of our cadets. As you develop your leadership skills and have proven your ability to lead, organize, and guide others, you will attain rank and responsibility. Being a cadet means you will receive an education that includes developing self-discipline as well as the ability to communicate with, guide, and mentor your peers. These qualities will serve you for success throughout your life.
As a member of the Corps of Cadets, you will have a sense of accomplishment and belonging. Your growth will be charted by working toward real-life goals and thriving academically. Through leadership opportunities and mentoring, you will begin identifying areas of strength and those requiring improvement.
With the help of a cadet officer and an adult advisor, you will take responsibility for your own progress and learn valuable mentoring skills along the way. The Corps of Cadets is a dynamic on-campus community that involves everyone.
