Blue Ridge School (Virginia)
The Blue Ridge School is an all-male boarding school located at the foothills of Shenandoah National Park in St George, Virginia. The school enrolls nearly 200 boys in grade 9 to 12 including international students from multiple countries. Established in 1909, the goal of the school is to develop self-esteem in boys by strengthening the leadership skills through sports and extra-curricular activities. In fact, the school excels academically as nearly 100% of the boys are admitted to colleges and universities.
Located on a 750 acres campus, there are a number of historic landmarks on the site that are also registered as National Register of Historic Places. The environment includes several natural lakes and ponds, which offers distinct flora and fauna. The Blue Ridge School is also known for its extra-curricular activities as school teams participates in all major US sports regional tournaments. Its basketball team is considered among the best in Virginia, while the Football team has also won numerous state titles. Due to the emphasis on personal development and sports, the School has produced notable Alumni. Recent graduates include some of the well-known names in Sports including Chaz Woodson of Ohio Machine and Isaiah Battle of Saint Louis Rams.
