Brush Creek Academy (Oklahoma)
Brush Creek Academy, located in Northeastern Oklahoma, is a lower-cost, ranch-based Christian boarding school designed for at-risk boys, age 14-17.
Brush Creek accepts boys struggling with life-controlling issues, helping them begin living a fulfilling life, and equipping them to become happy, confident, self-reliant, and successful adults. In addition to individual and group therapy, Brush Creek Academy also spends time working with the parents to restore a healthy environment and relationship in the home. Brush Creek Academy strives to give hope and bring restoration to the entire family, not just the student enrolled with us.
Academic Curriculum
Brush Creek is fully accredited and meets the national standards that are required of schools. The school’s study program allows for an education plan designed specifically for troubled boys. The resident’s education plan will be designed to make sure that he is challenged with a balance on making sure that he completes the courses needed to get back on track academically if needed. Goals are set on a daily basis so that there is immediate feedback to the student to know how he is progressing.
Therapeutic Approach
Teen Challenge utilizes an integrated model of intervention that is biblically-based plus techniques from various psychological approaches including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapies, Reality Therapy, Choice Theory, Solution Focused Therapy, Systems Theory, and others. The program makes use of behavioral elements, experiential activities, therapeutic interventions, and social/interpersonal activities. All of these elements are presented in a loving Christian environment. The overall philosophy is to give the residents the best opportunity to implement change in their lives so first that they might be restored and secondly so that the relationships with their parents and family might be restored. Brush Creek has an intense therapeutic curriculum that includes Group Studies and Personal Studies for new Christians (GSNC & PSNC). This curriculum has been developed and proven over several decades around the globe to be effective in helping young people overcome life-controlling issues, and learn more about themselves. This allows them to become better individuals, restoring their lives and in turn restoring their relationships.
Mission
The mission of Brush Creek is to see the lives of teenage boys transformed and families restored. “Putting Hope Within Reach” is our mission.
Testimonial
“Parenting is fun again after our son attended Brush Creek Academy. It is wonderful to watch them make bad and good choices and learn from them. We can’t thank BCA enough. We have a huge prayer list praying for the staff and every day. We believe in what BCA is doing. God bless all the staff.” – Robin G.
