Westover School is a college preparatory boarding and day school for girls. It is found in Middlebury, Connecticut. Westover School is known to offer grade nine to 12 learning. The school was founded in 1909, and its buildings were designed by Theodate Pope Riddle. Westover School has been granted accreditation certificates by the Association of Schools in England, and it has also been approved by the Connecticut state. It is a member of various organizations such as the association of independent schools, the coalition of girl’s schools, and the College Board. To graduate, a student must attain 18 credits, and it is also a requirement for one to have computer literacy and perform community service.
All the faculty members of the school have bachelor’s degree, and a few have master’s degree. Most of the teachers live in the housing units that are owned by the school. The faculty members are all encouraged to pursue professional development, and the school provides funds for such purpose. The schools athletic center has a basketball court, several volleyball court, fitness center, aerobics, and several international squash courts. Westover School has various organizations and clubs that do support the environment, arts, writing, and languages. Most members of the school’s community participate fully during the production of musicals.
