Woodhall, the school's founders, desired a school where male students could excel at academic and non-academic activities. Some of the students had unresolved issues at other schools. Today, Mathew Campbell Woodhall, who heads the school, follows his parents' mission for the student population. For example, approximately 20 faculty members work with students in small groups. The academic life is not the only focus for faculty. The Woodhall School and its faculty members place a focus on sports, too. Students have access to a sports and activities program.
