Having produced multiple olympians as well as members of the United States Ski Team, the Steamboat Mountain School is at the forefront of experiential learning. Students from the school have access to all that Steamboat Springs and the adjacent Rocky Mountains have to offer and engage in outdoor activities ranging from skiing to kayaking to mountain biking.
Situated on an 150 acre campus surrounded by wilderness the school features a 1 to 8 teacher student ratio and typically enrolls under 50 students. Founded by outdoorsman Lowell Whiteman in 1957, The Steamboat Mountain School features class sizes ranging from 12 to 3, and provides an individualized educational experience to its entire student body.
