Idyllwild Arts Academy (California)
Idyllwild Arts Academy is an international arts high school that runs September through May in California. It provides training in the arts and preparation for college. It has students from over 25 countries and offers music, dance, creative writing, fashion design, film, digital media, music, theater, and visual arts. The creative writing program offers courses in songwriting, poetry, prose, and drama. The dance program offers a multi-disciplinary program with ballet, jazz, and modern dance. Fashion design teaches sewing skills to design skills. Film and digital media offer courses in film making, editing, screenwriting, directing, and many other disciplines. The music department teaches songwriting, jazz, instruments, and classical music. The theater department teaches every theater aspect, from acting to stage design. The school offers science, math, humanities, world languages, and English as a second language. They have many cultural and social events for students to participate in. Idyllwild is a boarding school and has day students too. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served to boarders, and days students get lunch. The summer program offers courses for adults, the children center has courses for children 5-12, and The Junior Artists Center has workshops for kids 11-13.
